The Library has three, two of which are incomplete, audience recordings.
The first is a very good recording. Three songs only (You're A Big Girl Now, Can't Wait, and
She Belongs To Me). Thanks again, Keith! Dubbed 03/08/99. One side only. 60 min. Request

The second is a pretty good, but a tad muddy, recording. The encore (Highway 61 Revisited, Love
Sick, Blowin' In The Wind, and Not Fade Away) only. Judy, the taper, explains: "When I turned
over the tape, I realized it [a Sony Walkman] was not on." Bummer! Judy "was sitting in the
front of the theater." Thanks, Judy! Dubbed 04/03/99. One side only. 60 min. Request

The third is a stereo MiniDisc recording. Just a tad heavy on the bass for my taste - I have
aggressively EQed the analog Master. The first few seconds of To Be Alone With You are clipped.
Our taper, David, explains: "Got a new Sony MiniDisc Walkman for the new Dylan Tour. (I stopped
taping shows for 20 years.) I record in mono, so that I can go for 2.5 hours non-stop, and
enjoy the show. However, the DiscMan shut off just as Bob was introduced. I hit record, which
explanes the sudden start. I was wondering when to change discs." David continues: "The show
was great (I was at the early show as well, and very tired having driven in from out of state).
After "Friend Of The Devil", I started to change discs, since I figured there would be 2 more
electric songs before the encore. I hadn't ever changed a disc at a show--especially in the
dark. When Bob started talking, I had to hit "Record" again--missing only a few seconds. I
changed discs after "H61". Highlights for me were "She Belongs To Me", "It Ain't Me Babe", and
"Blowin' In The Wind" (This was a surprise because I usually prefer more recent material in
concert)and well as the chaotic "Not Fade Away"--- with dozens of fans jumping on stage. You
couldn't even see the band! It was wild! Just a note for those of you listening to both shows
from that night-- The set list doesn't jump out as being very exciting--but listen to the
PERFORMANCES! Bob could have blown us away buy chosing obscure material-- (My fantasy: Early
Show-"Time Out Of Mind" Live Late Show --"Bootleg Vol 4--live 66 " Live) But Bob chose familiar
songs-- but the way he performed them was something else--I wish you could have seen him beaming
on stage! Also quite a bit of movement--dare I say it--He was dancing! Bob repeated several
songs--but listed to (for example) "Can't Wait" and "Tangled Up In Blue"-- The early show
versions were great, but he challenged himself but doing even better versions at the late show!
People that were dissappointed with the show (and the "Not Fade Away" Finale) just don't get it.
Both shows were amazing-- I just hope you can appreciate it on the tape. Enjoy! David."
Thanks, David! Dubbed 05/08/99. 90 min. Request 990227L3.
